CEF investments fill the missing links in Europe's energy, transport and digital backbone.<\/p>\n<p>The CEF benefits people across all Member States, as it makes travel easier and more sustainable, it enhances Europe\u2019s energy security while enabling wider use of renewables, and it facilitates cross-border interaction between public administrations, businesses and citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to grants, the CEF offers financial support to projects through innovative financial instruments such as guarantees and project bonds. These instruments create significant leverage in their use of EU budget and act as a catalyst to attract further funding from the private sector and other public sector actors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Priorities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CEF Transport<\/strong> supports the construction and upgrade of sustainable transport infrastructure projects, for the development and modernisation of the Trans-European Transport network.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CEF Energy<\/strong> supports the construction and upgrade of sustainable energy infrastructure projects, including cross-border projects in the field of renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CEF Digital<\/strong> supports the deployment of digital networks, i.e. sustainable and high capacity projects such as 5G coverage of trans-European corridors and submarine cables.<\/p>\n<p>While the <em>European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency<\/em> (CINEA) implements the CEF Transport and Energy programmes, the <em>European Health and Digital Executive Agency<\/em> (HaDEA) implements parts of the CEF Digital programme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<section class=\"article-body\">\n<div class=\"rl_tabs nn_tabs outline_handles outline_content top align_left has_effects\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div class=\"tab-content\">\n<div id=\"procedimiento\" class=\"tab-pane rl_tabs-pane nn_tabs-pane orange active\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-procedimiento\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<section id=\"inline-nav-1\">\n<div class=\"ecl-paragraph\">\n<p>The financial contribution of the CEF is granted mainly in the form of grants, with different percentages of co-financing depending on the type of project.<\/p>\n<p>Under the <strong>CEF Transport<\/strong>, \u20ac25.8 billion will be earmarked for subsidies from the 2021-2027 Union budget to co-finance transport projects in EU Member States.<br \/>\nWithin the framework of the <strong>CEF Energy<\/strong>, \u20ac5.8 billion will be allocated to co-finance projects of common interest within the framework of the TEN-E Regulation, as well as cross-border projects in the field of renewable energies.<br \/>\nThe <strong>CEF Digital<\/strong> will invest \u20ac2 billion in European connectivity infrastructure and stimulate the deployment of fifth generation (5G) mobile networks by local communities.<br \/>\nThe Connecting Europe Facility will make a major contribution to the Green Deal objectives of promoting greener and more sustainable trans-European transport and energy networks, as well as digitalisation.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission will adopt <em>annual and multi-annual work programs<\/em> for each sector. In these work programs the forms of subsidy that can be used to finance the actions in question will be established.
