active orange\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-informacion-general\" aria-hidden=\"false\">\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>European agricultural fund for rural development<\/strong>\u00a0(EAFRD) finances the EU's contribution to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/food-farming-fisheries\/key-policies\/common-agricultural-policy\/rural-development\/country_en\">rural development programmes<\/a>\u00a0(RDPs).<\/p>\n<p>RDPs consist of measures and projects that contribute to the EU-wide objectives of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improving the competitiveness of agriculture<\/li>\n<li>encouraging sustainable management of natural resources and climate action<\/li>\n<li>achieving a balanced territorial development of rural economies and communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programmes are prepared on a national or regional basis, and must work towards specific targets relating to the EU\u2019s rural development objectives. These objectives are realised through national and regional\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/food-farming-fisheries\/key-policies\/common-agricultural-policy\/rural-development_es\">rural development programmes<\/a> (RDPs), which are co-financed by the EAFRD and the national budgets of EU countries.<\/p>\n<p>The EAFRD can also provide investment support for rural enterprises and projects through financial instruments, such as loans, guarantees, or equity. Details about financial instruments available under the EAFRD are provided on the online advisory platform\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fi-compass.eu\/esif\/eafrd\">Fi-Compass<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The EAFRD is one of five funds included under the framework of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/funding-opportunities\/funding-programmes\/overview-funding-programmes\/european-structural-and-investment-funds_es\">European structural investment funds<\/a>\u00a0(ESIF), which target cohesive investment towards sustainable economic development in the EU. Each Member State contributes to a national rural network that brings together all the agencies and administrations linked to the different aspects related to rural development.
