This trend is the subject of many debates and discussions. Can online theatre still be considered theatre? Can it exist without its immediate and tangible physical presence? Can digital media bring new ways of seeing, and even of creating plays, and by doing so broaden and enrich the theatrical experience? The questions surrounding the theatre\u2019s existence in the digital sphere are numerous, and remain open for the public, directors and theatre companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prospero - Extended Theatre<\/strong> brings together ten partners: <em>nine theatres<\/em> from nine different European countries and one European media partner. The nine European partner theatres are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Li\u00e8ge<\/em> (lead partner \u2013 Belgique) supported for this project by Wallonia-Brussels International,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione<\/em> (Modena \u2013 Italia),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>S\u00e3o Luiz Teatro Municipal<\/em> (Lisboa \u2013 Portugal),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>G\u00f6teborgs Stadsteater<\/em> (G\u00f6teborg \u2013 Sverige),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Hrvatsko narodno kazali\u0161te<\/em> (Zagreb \u2013 Hrvatska),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Teatros del Canal<\/em> (Comunidad de Madrid \u2013 Espa\u00f1a),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Schaub\u00fchne<\/em> (Berlin \u2013 Deutschland),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Teatr Powszechny<\/em> (Warszawa \u2013 Polska), and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Od\u00e9on-Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l\u2019Europe<\/em> (Paris \u2013 France)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European partner media is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>ARTE TV<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This project, which started in 2020 and is co-funded by the European Union\u2019s Creative Europe programme, is based on three axes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the production and filming of nine plays \u2013 one in each partner theatre -;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the development of an online streaming platform, available at prospero-theatre.tv ;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the development of each theatre\u2019s audience, including in the digital sphere.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vocation of the Prospero platform is to host and make accessible, for free (during the period of EU funding, until end of 2024) and in the whole European Union, theatre-related content such as: recordings of plays, interviews of artists, and short documentaries on the theatres\u2019 and plays\u2019 backstage.
