The Award recognises cities which have made significant efforts to become more accessible for persons with disabilities and have plans for further improvement. The winning city will receive a financial prize of \u20ac150,000, the second and third place winners will receive \u20ac120,000 and \u20ac80,000 respectively. The competition, organised by the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> in partnership with the <strong>European Disability Forum<\/strong>, is open to EU cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants. The winners of this year\u2019s Award will be announced at a conference on the European Day of Persons with Disabilities on 25 November.
