Launched by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Fundación CEER (FCEER), each visit is built around a real b-solutions case — the initiative managed by the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) that identifies and helps resolve legal and administrative obstacles affecting cross-border cooperation. Participants get a first-hand look at how public authorities and stakeholders have tackled these barriers on: Healthcare, Public services, Transport, Environmental management, Tourism, Social security, Territorial governance. Participants will meet the organisations and stakeholders behind the selected cases, discuss the solutions developed, and explore how to adapt them to their own regional contexts.
The call is open to the European territorial cooperation community linked to Interreg A programmes, including managing authorities, joint secretariats, national, regional and local administrations, universities, research centres, European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTCs), Euroregions, development agencies, chambers of commerce, and other organisations active in cross-border cooperation. Funding available: Up to €750 (lump sum) will be provided to cover travel and accommodation costs for the 50 highest-scoring applicants.
Border Regions Peer Exchange on Solving Border Obstacles programme has been extended to 16 September 2026 at 17h.. This gives organisations across Europe extra time to apply for one of the 100 visitor places available to take part in 10 peer-exchange visits (2-day visits), running between November 2026 and January 2027.
