The European Commission is making €404.3 million available to help doctoral graduates develop their research careers. This is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), the 2025 call for proposals for which has just been launched.

These grants allow researchers to benefit from training while promoting international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility. The programme also encourages research and innovation projects outside academia. It is open to researchers wishing to return to Europe, as well as to those wishing to resume their research careers.

The 2025 call includes two types of fellowships. European postdoctoral fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality wishing to carry out a project in the EU or in a Horizon Europe partner country. Global Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to EU nationals or long-term residents of an EU Member State or a Horizon partner country who carry out a mobility project in a non-partner third country, before returning to Europe. The call will close on 10 September 2025 and is expected to fund almost 1,650 projects.
